Maiden Voyage

What a gorgeous weekend we had in Knoxville! Unfortunately, we all spent most of it indoors battling various degrees of snottiness / coughing. The weather got the best of us yesterday afternoon, and we decided to load up the kids in their new wagon to get a little fresh air and sunshine. After good naps, we set out to tour the neighborhood.

Santa brought the wagon for Samantha and Andrew. He loaded their toys and stockings in it, so Samantha was a little worried that he was going to come back to get it once it was empty. He has yet to ask for it, so we've decided he probably just meant to leave it for us to use!

A girl's got to have her shades on a sunny day.

FYI ... the bumbo wedges perfectly in the seat of the wagon! Andrew was able to enjoy the ride, too.

Just chillin' out showing off his new wheels.

The church in front of our neighborhood recently built a little playground. We decided to check it out.

Not so sure Andrew knows what to do with a swing.

Apparently the bumbo/wagon combo is quite cozy. Yes, he is asleep!!
Big girl decided she wanted to walk.

The transfer from the wagon to the indoors didn't seem to phase him. Never wake a sleeping baby, right?

Yet another transfer to the pack-n-play, safely out of harms way (ie, safely out of Samantha's way.)

By the way, our snottiness isn't any worse after our excursion. And, as far as I can tell, Andrew's neck did not suffer any ill effects of afternoon snooze in the bumbo!

Long Time, No Blog

Hello, blogland! Yes, we are alive and well in the Noland household. Our lives have been in a tailspin since Thanksgiving. Between getting ready for Christmas, holiday traveling (we put around 2000 miles on our new car ... no joke), and parenting, most of my free time (HA!) has been spent sleeping and doing other mindless activities. We seem to be finding our routine again so hopefully I'll be better about posting pictures of my sweet babies.

In scrapbooking, they always say start where you are, move forward, and go back to fill in when you have the time. I've adopted the same philosophy for the blog. Maybe I'll have our holiday highlights up before too long. For the moment, though, I thought I'd share pictures that have been taken over the past several weeks.

I feel that both Samantha and Andrew change all of the time. Andrew, especially. He is holding his head up like a champ, and he is so expressive. He has the sweetest smile. We get to see it quite often, as he is a very content baby. He isn't sleeping through the night yet, but we seem to be getting closer. He has had a little cold, and when I took him to the doctor last week, we found out he is already 15 pounds, and 13.5 ounces!! He doesn't miss many meals!

Samantha, of course, hasn't changed the way he has physically, but she amazes us everyday with how she is doing developmentally. Last weekend, we had potty training boot camp. She took to it like an old pro. She is getting very into dress up, and recently discovered the Disney princesses. We are very princess-y around here!! Samantha is also very busy helping me take care of Andrew, much to his chagrin. She is a very doting big sister!

Reading Andrew Love You Forever, the special book Daddy reads to her. He has own copy for me to read to him!

Sleeping beauties ... when nap times coincide, we are all big fans of the family nap. Andrew loves sleeping in her bed.

"I want to hold Andrew!" - a phrase I here numerous times a day. It's a good thing he is so laid back!

A special treat from Papaw and Wawa for learning to use the big girl potty, her very own pillow pet! It is a ladybug which was promptly named .... Frosty. Not Lady, not Ladybug, not Lucky ... Frosty.

Not sure if this is a good thing, but it is awfully cute. Andrew loves to watch sports with his Daddy. He is also a big fan of Yo Gabba Gabba.

A perfect picture of Andrew's world. Sleeping peacefully in Wawa's lap, while she protects him from a ball thrown by his big sister. Samantha hasn't quite caught on that Andrew can't play catch yet!

The artist at work. She refused to get out of the bathtub until her masterpiece was just right.

Samantha the butterfly. The butterfly towel is about the only thing that can entice her to leave the fun of the tub.

Our happy boy! He doesn't mind his car seat, especially since we put the snuggly thing in it. We also get lots of compliments on his bear hat.

Another new trick ... the Bumbo. He can't sit in it long, but he likes to be upright so he can see what is going on. He is going to be a people person. He doesn't care much for rattles, toys or books, but he loves to look at faces.
