Short Month, Still a Lot of Pictures!

February may only have 28 days, but there has been no shortage of photo ops in the Noland house. From birthdays, to a visit from Big Guy and Grammy, to just being adorable kids, I've tried to be better about keeping the camera close by to snap the random moments I don't want to forget. Buckle in, I'm trying to make up for lost time!

Samantha and I made Steve a homemade (read: cake mix from a box) strawberry cake. She got to experience one of life's greatest pleasures for the first time - licking a beater!

What was Andrew doing while we were busy in the kitchen? Partying it up on the playmat. He perfected the half roll early in the month, and finally got himself all the way over this last week.

Samantha with our finished product! Needless to say, she was very anxious for Daddy to get home.

The birthday boy with the party girl.

Samantha showing Daddy the sprinkles she put on his cake.

Papaw and Andrew deep in conversation.

Daddy gets a strawberry kiss for his birthday.

Dancing with his favorite girl.

Daddy and his boy.

I was cleaning out some of Samantha's old stuff for consignment and found some MAM pacifiers. She was a NUK girl. After a quick sterilization, Andrew is the proud owner of two new pink pacifiers! Real men can rock a pink paci.

Andrew was pretty happy that Big Guy and Grammy came to visit.

Samantha wanted to be swaddled, so of course Grammy obliged.

Samantha got on a kick of driving her car to "work". When we asked her what she did for a living, she replied "paperwork". While Grammy was in, she got a little bit of help doing her tax return. "Paperwork" is apparently a pretty lucrative business!

Samantha's buddy Garrison came over with his Daddy to watch the Super Bowl. They had a good time dancing to the Black Eyed Peas at halftime.

Aaaaaaaand this is why we don't like for Samantha to eat popsicles. I am happy to report that the shirt survived after a strenuous bleaching. It is currently on deck for yet another bleaching after a busy day at the playground.

Samantha decided to give Andrew a little help the day we put him on his tummy time playmat.

Like father, like daughter. Welcome to the 21st Century. Daddy checks his email on his phone while watching a basketball game on the computer. Samantha does a little computer work herself.

Daddy and Andrew watch the Vols on the computer. We didn't get it on our cable, so they streamed it online.

PJ'ed up and ready for bed! Samantha found a bible story book and decided that Andrew needed one to read, too.

Samantha's all time favorite chips are Bugles, or "giggles" as they are called in our house. If you ask her what happens if you eat too many bugles, she turns into one!

Another new game, undoubtedly a result of our new dog obsession ... fetch. I wish I were making this up!

When Andrew is ready to fall asleep, he falls asleep!

Another new favorite game - doctor. The bunnies go to the doctor just about every day for "congestion". This particular day I think the official diagnosis was "a little out of sorts."

Oh how I want to squeeze those precious cheeks right off! Andrew is getting to be a big boy. He joins us at mealtime now, and often get in the "clean bowl club".

A perfect way to end my random post of pictures. These kids adore their Daddy. I think the feeling is mutual!

The Whatever Tree

At Christmas, we found the small tree I used to take to work and decided to put it up in Samantha's room. She loved it, especially since we let her pick out all of the decorations. The tree was pink and purple, of course! Well, Christmas came and went, and Samantha accepted that the decorations had to come down. Except when we got to her tree. 2 things did NOT make their way back to storage after the holidays - the baby Jesus from her Fisher Price nativity set ("Don't put my Jesus in a box!" she said) and the tree. Well, Jesus is not in a box (unfortunately, Jesus' whereabouts are currently unknown) and the tree is still up. Not a Christmas tree, mind you, but a tree henceforth known as the "Whatever Tree."

The pink and purple Christmas tree.

The red heart Valentines tree.

The Mardi Gras tree.

Coming soon ... The Easter tree! Then the (need a good idea here) tree! Then the Fourth of July tree! Then the, well, you get the picture.

Happy Heart Day!

Thought you might like to see some fun pictures from our Valentines Day festivities. Enjoy ...

Samantha loves cards with cash in them!!

She was a very big help to Andrew. She opened all of his cards and read them to him. Surprisingly, she didn't try to keep the cash.

The aftermath of Samantha's card opening activities. Sorry, Aunt Teddie, but at least the sweet cards remained intact!

The best picture we could get of Samantha and Andrew with the Valentine basket from Big Guy and Grammy.

A perfect picture of the sibling relationship - Samantha, the overbearing, overloving (yes, I made that word up) big sister, and Andrew, the disgruntled little brother.

Much better! Less violation of personal space.

The BEST part of the the Valentine basket - not the bear, not the candy, not the balloon - the packing peanuts!!!!!!

Andrew with his Valentine puppy.

"Dancing" with brother.

Our gourmet dinner - a heart shaped pepperoni pizza.

Samantha's face was priceless when she spotted Perdita (the girl dog from 101
Dalmations) on her bed. Her Valentine (Daddy) really knocked it out of the park!

Samantha, Perdita, Andrew and Pongo. If these are the kinds of dogs that make her happy, Momma's very happy!

Princess Samantha and Perdita.

Family photo op with our new canine additions.

Andrew checking out his card, probably trying to decide if it would be a good thing to put in his mouth.

Deja Vu

Does this picture of Andrew look at all familiar? It should ...

Check out Samantha, same outfit, same exersaucer, same size, but 2 months older ...

4 month stats - not ruined yet!

Sweet little Andrew had his 4 month check up Tuesday. We thought you'd like a little snapshot of where he is. Great news, he isn't completely ruined, even though Steve and I have totally forgotten most everything we did for Samantha!

Weight: 16 pounds, 9.5 ounces (!!) For those wondering, this is just over 2 pounds heavier than his sister at the same age.

Length: 25 3/4 inches. 8oth percentile, not bad! Yes, we are filling out 3/6 month clothes.

Head: Still large

Sleep: Through the night, finally! Hallelujah!

Bottles: Can't get enough

Laughs: Absolutely contagious!

Dimple: Still there!!

Football Game: Check. Beat Ole Miss. Got his first sunburn. Met Tobias Harris.

Basketball Game: Check. Loss to Alabama. LOVED all of the activity. Wore his first jersey ... a Tobias Harris jersey, of course!

Snow: Check. Too cold!

Beach Trip: Working on it.

Disneyworld: Relying on Samantha to charm Daddy with all of her princess talk. (Mommy might be "helping" her a bit.)

Life as a Little Brother: Nuts. Keeps a very watchful eye out for his overly helpful big sister. Thought he was really fascinated by her, now I think it's more for self preservation!

Favorite Activities: Putting anything he can get his hands on into his mouth, drooling, watching sports with Daddy.

Rice Cereal: Verdict is still out.
