From Blob to Baby

Guess what? There really is a baby in there! Isn't it amazing how much he/she has grown in just 2 weeks? Dr. Keenan didn't give us any official measurements or stats today, but he said the baby looks great. Jenny had to press down on my abdomen to get a good shot, because my ovaries are still crowding things. This was the first shot. The second time she did it, the baby flipped! I guess he/she didn't like being disturbed too much. Poor thing. Its only been a tiny little functioning human for a couple of weeks and we're already poking at him/her. For anyone who may need guidance, this is a profile shot. The baby has a big head with its butt in the air.

I've been saying "he" an awful lot, so Steve is trying to counterbalance me by saying "she". Only 10 more weeks and we'll know for sure!

I'm finally having some dreaded pregnancy symptoms, but I'm not going to complain. I sleep alot , and generally feel run down. The smallest things seem to take more energy these days! I'm pretty much lost my appetite, though I haven't had a lot of nausea. My stomach just never seems to feel right. I have to make myself eat, which has made for some interesting meals. The good thing is that most of these symptoms should subside in the next 2-3 weeks, when we officially enter the 2nd trimester.

We go for our prenatal appointment with Dr. Field's nurse in the morning. It probably won't be too very exciting. Just a big information exchange. I don't imagine we'll see Dr. Fields for another 2 weeks or so. Steve and I are very much looking forward to being regular ol' OB patients. What is that like?!?

I'm going to thank you again and again and again for your prayers and encouragement. Look at that tiny little human - you are such a big part of its being here!
