Our Weekend on the Mountain

Time for another road trip! Since we hadn't seen the Mitchells since Christmas, we packed up the family truckster and headed to Signal Mountain this weekend. Samantha is growing and changing every day, and we couldn't wait for Bill, Elise, Will and Caroline to see all of her new tricks. Caroline is also playing basketball, and we wanted to make it to a game.

It goes without saying that we are never disappointed by time spent with the Mitchells. They graciously allowed us to pretty much take over their downstairs during our stay. Its amazing how much stuff a baby needs for one night away from home! I probably didn't need to take as much play stuff as I did. Samantha could sit in Caroline's room for hours and be entertained! A highlight for her was having her first taste of a biscuit, courtesy of Aunt Elise. I should say first tastes ... she definitely wanted more than one bite. As for me, I was introduced to the SAT prep question of the day website, which is visited daily by the Mitchells. Much to my chagrin, I discovered I have forgotten A LOT of stuff since high school and college. Here are a few photos from our wonderful weekend.

Samantha was starting to wind down for a nap, so Elise got out her secret weapon .... the original fuzzy.

"Yep. Works every time." - Elise, after Samantha literally fell over in her lap.

Action shot from the ballgame. Caroline was inbounding the ball. Despite a serious 4th quarter push, her team lost 12-16. She had a bucket and several great passes!

Coach Mitchell and Caroline

For my friends keeping score ... Yes, this is Will. Yes, he is driving. Yes, he turns 16 in July. Yes, we are getting old.
