February was an exciting month for young Samantha. She had lots of firsts, including crawling. Crawling has opened up a whole new world for her. Someone please tell me why my child, when she has a roomful of toys, would rather crawl around the kitchen and play with cookbooks, cutting mats, and spice jars? Needless to say, the downstairs has been babyproofed. We took so many cute random pictures last month, I thought I would share some highlights of her new experiences.

Bunny goes everywhere Samantha goes these days. I went to check on her one night, and she was asleep on Bunny, not just with him firmly in her grasp. It was so precious I dared to take a picture. She never flinched. Good to know she is a heavy sleeper!

This was Samantha's first time playing in Daddy and Wawa's chair. Yes, the red chair is now on its third generation Noland. How special!

First bite of steak .... just kidding. Also, her first significant fever, which is why she looks a bit worn out.

First ride on Uncle Johnny's Harley.

We had some great weather in February. This is her first ride in the baby swings, which she loved!

First of many Valentines Day teddy bears from Big Guy.

First Valentines Day gift from Mommy and Daddy, a Build-a-Bear monkey named Monkey. Steve recorded a message that she can hear if she presses his hand. She loves her monkey and lights up every time it "talks" to her.

Samantha is into sharing these days, be it her dinner or her pacifier. She especially likes to feed Daddy. Steve is a very good sport about it.

First Mardi Gras celebration.

First time she has ever pulled herself up to standing. She is still perfecting her stance!

Finally learning to crawl through her "kitchen" to get to the "living room". It sings the ABCs when she goes through, which thrills her!

Getting food stuck on her face is a regular occurrence. This, however, was the first time I have ever seen food stuck under her nose. No doubt as a result of her new fascination with smelling things. Too funny!

Thanks for sharing the "Samantha" chronicles. We love looking at the pictures and it just makes us want to be there and hug her. Isn't it amazing how quickly she is changing and how you can already see her little personality shaping up. Hugs and kisses!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
