Greetings from a very sore blogger! If you remember from our last update, Steve and I were deciding between shots and surgery. For those who don't know, we opted for the surgery. We both felt like it would be better for my overall health even beyond this childbearing phase. So, I went under the laparoscope yesterday. (That doesn't have quite the same ring to it!)
Basically, Dr. Keenan went in laparoscopicly and cauterized parts of both my ovaries. He also checked my fallopian tubes (they're clear) and cleaned my other lady parts up. This will increase my chances of getting pregnant more quickly. We have some lovely pictures if anyone wants to see them! The procedure itself was quick ... it took me a little longer to wake up from the anesthesia. I think I needed some sleep! I've been sore, but it's nothing a few painkillers can't help. I plan on taking it very easy today. Tomorrow I think I'll be pretty much back to normal.
Thank you, thank you to everyone who has been praying for us. This is the first step in our new journey. We'll be going down a different path this time, but we know that God will bless us in his time. And thank you to the best Mom and Dad EVER! They have been here tending to Samantha's every need so I can recover. It has made the whole process much easier knowing that she is being taken care of. And thank you to Steven, who woke up yesterday in Louisville and drove back to meet me at the hospital only to sit there for 4 hours. I may be the main vessel on this journey, but he is as much a part of it as I am. And, lastly, thanks to all who are on this journey with us. Samantha is here in large part because of you ... your prayers, encouragement and support. We couldn't do this without you!
