May ... So Far

We've had an exciting month so far ... and we're planning a beach trip! That's lots of excitement right there. Young Andrew has had an especially turbulent month - lots of ups and downs. We have unfortunately discovered that he has the worst allergies in the Noland clan. Needless to say, he is currently taking breathing treatments to help him win the fight with the yellow stuff coating the outside. On the upside, he is his normal, chipper self (except when on the receiving end of said treatments), and has managed to uneventfully cut TWO teeth amidst an ear infections, allergies, and a nagging cough. Of course, the ever-by-his-side Samantha has found her doctor kit so that she can take very good care of him. She's had a big month in her own right - she has given two outstanding performances this month, one at her mothers day out program and the other at church on Mothers Day. Here are a few highlights, so far. I'm sure we'll have many more when we return from the beach!

Front and center with her class at her mothers day out program.

Not sure when I snapped this, but she has been very into dress up lately. Just yesterday, she sat at her dressing table, put on all of her jewelry, and while patting her hair declared "I'm gorgeous!"

One very happy and very proud Momma on Mothers Day.

At this point, the diva was officially over the picture taking.

We stopped by the cemetery to leave the original Wawa and Papaw a very belated birth announcement. As you can see, Andrew was thrilled to meet his namesake!

Samantha loved all of the flowers and thought they smelled great. I just didn't have the heart to tell her that plastic flowers don't smell!

Steve let me pick our treat spot since it was my special day. If I'm going to waste some calories, I want to waste them on Krispy Kreme! I knew Samantha would like watching the doughnuts getting made.

She really, really wanted to go back and see all of the doughnuts.

Daddy and Andrew, looking dapper in his KK hat.

Score! I got a free Mothers Day doughnut.

Since Andrew was denied a doughnut despite his best efforts, he settled for eating his hat.

Samantha takes a rest in the grass after some hard playtime in the backyard.

Look close! Not one tooth, but TWO TEETH right there on the bottom.

Samantha being Samantha.
