As we go past the 5:00 hour on the East Coast I thought I'd give you your drive time update edition of amy-n.blogspot.com
Amy is now at 6cm and 90% effaced. Most importantly she is still feeling no pain. However, she is feeling a lot of pressure which is to be expected. She has napped on and off throughout the afternoon after a pretty difficult morning. I guess her body is gearing up for the big push later tonight. Dr. Fields thinks we are looking at somewhere between 8:00 and 10:00 tonight.
The 3rd floor at St. Mary's is hopping. There have been SEVERAL births since we arrived last night. The full moon really does a number on expectant mothers. The Women's Pavilion at St. Mary's has birthed 99,983 babies since it opened. Signs of the countdown to 100,000 are all over the place. We're not sure if there is a prize for Baby #100,000 . . . . but we don't want to wait around to find out!
Cabin fever has not struck us yet, but yours truly did abscond with 5 cups of ice cream from the "patient only" refrigerator around 4:30. Don't worry I destroyed all evidence of the alleged crime. I felt it only fair to have a little ice cream since the cable TV is out and I have no access to a Cubs score. As you know this is the Cubs year to win the World Series . . . . . they have started out 13-6 . . . . winners of 4 in a row and 12 of their last 15 . . . . and sit atop the NL Central with 143 games remaining in the season.
Can someone give me a Cubs score?!?!?!
